Editor's Note
Hi Readers,
This issue delivers the sounds and sites of the biggest cities in
Europe, a polling booth where you can vote for cancelled shows to stay
in production, an electron's eye view of the world, recipies for the
babyfood chef in all of us, the physical impact of one billion pennies,
and a chance to impress Picasso.
Enjoy.

Tuning The World
Visit
tuning the world and find out what different cities around the world
sound like. The interface is simple - you press a letter key from
the keyboard and a beautiful urban photograph from, say, Prague appears,
along with sounds recorded from the city. There are prerecorded visits
in case you're concerned about planning your own aural and visual
itenerary.
Save Our Show
It seems like everytime I have a new favorite show it gets cut. Maybe
that's because I haven't watched TV regularly since the Dukes of Hazard
leapt country roads in a single bound, since the Incredible Hulk tore
down entire forests of styrofoam trees. OK, it's been awhile. Still,
there must be some of you out there who want to VOTE for which television
shows will remain in action. You can vote on this site and automatically
send your request to someone at the network that hosts your favorite
and doomed television show.
MicroVision
There's not much I miss about high school, but I have to admit that
I'd like a chance to look at things under a microscope every now and
then. The world of the microscopic still amazes me, which is why I
like this site. Biodic is a gallery of over one thousand photos of
anatomy, fungi, plants, and cells taken with an electron microscope.
Now's your chance to get up close and personal with some mitochondria.
Homemade Baby Food
Have
you noticed the high price of babyfood these days? I haven't, but
I thought I'd mention this great source of recipes for inexpensive
and health-conscious baby food. From pasta to seafood, this site gathers
the best in homemade haute cuisine for your child. If you have the
time you might as well save the money.
One Billion Pennies
Ever wonder what a billion pennies looked like? I'm here to tell you
that they look like five school busses parked side by side. If you
stacked them up they'd be almost 1000 miles high. That's over four
times higher than the Space Shuttle orbits. How about a trillion pennies...
how about a quintillion pennies? Find out here - it's an excellent
graphic demonstration of the size of numbers.
Pixel Picasso
Alright
Picasso, visit this site, click your mouse on the black box and wave
the arrow around. You'll make glorious sunbursts, blazing mandalas,
and other amazing images with this incredible customizable kaleidoscope.
It's easy and mesmerizing - great for a brief respite from your busy
day at the office.
