However, in one of the most expensive Congressional races in history between, Lexington, Kentucky's Republican Congressman Ernie Fletcher and the challenger, Democrat Scotty Baesler, lies are the bone of contention. Congressman Fletcher has accused Baesler of enlisting in a pattern of blatantly lying about his record insofar as protecting our Social Security funds. The battle has caused both candidates to seek campaign contributions nation wide.
