Bill Gates Lunchbox Design On EBay

A benefit for the Food Bank of New York and the Lunchbox Fund includes lunchboxes with designs by a number of celebrities, one of which just happens to be the world's richest man.

The Register described it as 'Bill Gates' lunchbox on eBay', which makes the reader wonder what kind of lunchbox he had back in the day. Probably something sci-fi oriented with rockets on it.

However, the lunchbox on eBay was designed by Gates, though the writers at the Register speculate he passed the task off to a software designer. The design includes Microsoft's 'Start Something' slogan, with artwork on both sides of the lunchbox showing culinary and curiosity themes, sprialing out of a, get this, a Window.

The Microsoft Windows XP logo appears on both sides of the lunchbox, so when Vista finally arrives next year it will be a valuable collectible item.

At press time, the Gates lunchbox was up to $610 in bidding. All proceeds go to the two charities holding the auctions.
